The 50 Kilowatt solar array installed in the Washoe Medical Arts Center parking lot provides not only shade for the patrons but thanks to  energy saving upgrades such as more efficient flourescent lighting, LED exit signs etc.,  supplies all the daytime power for this busy medical building except in summer months when air conditioning is in high demand. Buiding owner Gary Dyer has taken advantage of  NV Energy's solar rebate and  a 30% federal tax credit to offset the initial cost.
